SoBo Cafe Restaurant Review: Bright orange walls dotted with local artwork --- available for purchase --- make an engaging backdrop for the hip, young crowd that populates this unpretentious Federal Hill café. Although the kitchen is in different hands, comfort food classics like chicken potpie, macaroni and cheese, and roasted half chicken are still part of the draw. However, chef Timothy Dyson’s menu, which is updated seasonally, also hits international notes with such dishes as ginger beer teriyaki ribs, harissa beef kebabs with couscous, and crispy tofu with chilled soba noodle salad. With most entrées in the teens, it's fun to experiment when you're in the mood for an arty, casual, upbeat meal. Beer and wine are served. The location is an easy stroll from the bright lights of the Inner Harbor or the funky charms of Federal Hill. |
