Society Restaurant Review

: Hunkered down in a hip Yaletown converted warehouse, Society makes the scene with sophisticates or the young social media set. The interior is alluring with dark slate walls, dramatic pink faux-Murano chandeliers, French brasserie chairs, and pearly leather banquettes. A whimsical touch: over-size glasses are filled with frothy pink cotton candy. Contrasting with the subdued opulence, the food is down-home comfort with an upscale makeover: from martinis and milk shakes to shepherd’s pie with buttery lobster, to baked mac ‘n’ cheese with winter truffles. For dessert, go wild and let your inner child indulge in the Junk Food Platter --- cotton candy, chocolate cupcakes, rice crispy squares, donut holes, caramel corn, and an ice cream sandwich. Crowds of youthful party-goers flock to the lofted upstairs lounge of the restaurant to see and be seen while imbibing handcrafted cocktails.
