| Tucked away off one of downtown Santa Barbara's charming brick alleyways lies a cozy eatery with a hopping nightlife. Diners may eat inside the exposed-brick and hardwood dining room or outside on the veranda. Bear in mind that if you're dining past 8 p.m., your conversation may compete with the live bands. The California-cuisine menu boasts Mediterranean accents and tremendous flavor from start to finish. We were thrilled with the Cajun Tiger shrimp salad, listed as a bistro entrée and consisting of a harmonious blend of shrimp, red onion, feta, toasted pecans and warm balsamic vinaigrette. Also on the bistro menu is the no-fail SOhO pizza with artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, garlic, basil and goat cheese. If you can make it past the bistro delights, other options include pasta and a variety of house specialties with a focus on seafood. Go for the grilled blackened salmon, pepper-seared ahi or spicy Indian vegetable curry. For dessert SOhO's specialty is warm chocolate pudding cake. Wash it all down with a local wine from the list and sit back to enjoy the tunes. |
