SOMA Chocolatemaker Restaurant Review: SOMA Chocolatemaker specializes in micro-batch chocolate bars made with cacao beans sourced from countries such as Peru, Madagascar and Papua New Guinea. They also use fair-trade and organic beans when possible. Frequent visits should try the truffle flavor of the month; featured creations have included the Sparky filled with Gianduja (hazelnut milk chocolate) and Pop Rocks candy. Also available are pralines, traditional Italian cookies, toffee, and gelato and sorbet. The Elixirs, like Mayan hot chocolate spiced with ginger, Madagascar vanilla, orange peel and chilli, are a must; you can buy them in packets to take home or have a cup on site. A handful of tables are set up for guests to savor their treats, and get a behind-the-scenes peek into the “chocolate laboratory.” SOMA also ships orders.
