Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse Restaurant Review: Whether you go for po boys, carved turkey, pulled pork or one half-pound plated meals the meat will be tender and juicy---the way it should be. As you might expect, these homespun eateries emphasize the food, not the décor. You place your order when you enter, pick it up when it’s ready, select your condiments, and then chow down, oblivious to that excellent barbecue sauce trickling down your arms. The tender, juicy brisket, pulled pork, and turkey are our favorites. Don’t skip the best side order, enormous crispy onion rings; the barbecued beans are pretty good, too. Fried okra’s popular, but we prefer the good slaw---try layering some on a turkey sandwich with barbecue sauce---and the zesty cucumber salad.
