Sonora Restaurant Restaurant Review

: Santa Fe décor sets a relaxed and laid back tone that nicely contrasts with the vibrancy of the food. The menu spans the scope of Latin cuisine and indicates the provenance of the entrées. Try the south-of-the-border-inspired taco selections such as the braised pork with lettuce, crème fraîche and roasted jalapeño salsita; grilled skirt steak with portobello mushrooms, romaine lettuces and charred tomato sauce; and the Rioja wine-braised short ribs with queso fresco and jalapeño aïoli. For more specialties from the Latin continent, choose bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and chia salad with shiitake mushrooms, sweet plantains and diced mango in an arugula and parsley chimichurri sauce from a Uruguayan recipe. Or try the Chilean branzino with manchego cheese, mushrooms and shrimp risotto in a fig essence and raspberry sauce. A selection of specialty cocktails and margaritas adds to the lively scene at the bar.
