Sorrel Urban Bistro Restaurant Review

: Restaurateur Ray Salti has created a sleek, modern bistro that offers regional American cuisine crafted with locally sourced products. Yes, Sorrel Urban Bistro sits in a strip center, but the interior has the look and feel of a true bistro with lots of windows. The kitchen opens to a cooking theater and there are kitchen cams that showcase the action on flat-screens; a charcuterie bar area is open late for cocktails --- like the fresh hibiscus margarita --- and small plates. Dishes change weekly but always start with focaccia and a trio of pesto, tomato pesto and Texas olive oil, or bread sticks and an herbed cream cheese dip. Order a bottle of wine --- the back wine wall holds 1,000 bottles, of which many are organic --- or a glass of the local Vintners Own on tap. Lunch might be a little lobster cake on a bed of yellow tomatoes and local greens. Sandwiches include the Broken Arrow Ranch beef burger. Dinner items run from such seasonal delights as cider-braised rabbit to trout stuffed with spicy Spanish chorizo sausage. The weekend brunch line-up also changes, but if the slow-braised brisket with potato hash finished with two fried farm eggs make an appearance, don't pass it by. Consider ice creams from local Cloud 10 Creamery for dessert.
