Southampton Publick House Restaurant Review: This microbrewery and gastropub housed in an historic building draws crowds all year long, even in the Hamptons. Traditional items like the Brewer's Burger are offered alongside updated pub favorites, such as an ale-battered codfish burger with mango chutney, or a grilled buffalo chicken and blue cheese wrap. "House Classics" range from a Gorgonzola-crusted "Pub Steak," a rib-eye served with IPA sauce, to roasted Long Island duck à l'orange. Dishes often incorporate beer, as in the potato-ale soup. After all, beer is a major draw at Southampton Publick House, with four permanent brews on tap --- Double White, Keller Pils, Secret Ale and Montauk Light --- and several seasonal selections at any given time. The best way to find a beer to your liking is with a sampler flight, which includes two-ounce pours of all eight tap beers; pair it with a full meal or perhaps appetizers like buffalo wings or nachos.
