THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Southerly Restaurant & Patio Restaurant Review

: Southern Season is a pastiche of Williams-Sonoma (gourmet items, cooking school) and upscale grocer, shot through with Texas Pete. Make that Cackalacky, the sweet potato hot sauce with an origin that is entwined with this contemporary Chapel Hill-based chain. You can buy something in the deli and eat it at one of the tables by the coffee bar or in the wine/beer section (where you can conveniently pair it with adult beverages, including four wines on tap). But for a full-service experience, there’s Southerly Restaurant & Patio. Your day could dawn at this adjoining restaurant with wild mushroom and duck hash or biscuits and gravy accompanied by a fried egg and crisped spinach; lunch might be a fried green tomato BLT on seven-grain bread or white bean hummus club on wheatberry bread; and dinner could include butternut squash soup, Chesapeake Bay crab cakes and a finale of peach crisp, all emblematic of Southerly’s belief in local and seasonal. Come to think of it, with so much to see, do and sustain you in this sleek setting wrapped in a big ol' Southern hug of hospitality, you could spend the whole day here. Or the whole season.
