| With a modern, expansive dining room glittering in glass, well-stocked wine closets and hues of sand and khaki, Spencer's offers more than the casual name suggests. The food has a straightforward style and right-on technique. Here, your USDA Prime dry-aged steak is cooked exactly to order---Kansas City strip and cowboy-cut rib chop, among others. Sidekicks don't disappoint either, and may range from bacon and onion green beans to garlic smashed potatoes. Salads are also substantial; look for seasonal specials and perhaps a roasted beet salad with goat cheese and orange vinaigrette. Crystal stemware and a carefully chosen by-the-glass wine program featuring prime American producers only add to the luxurious, yet understandably pricey, experience. |
