Spoon Eastside Restaurant Review: This family-owned operation is among Atlanta's most popular Thai restaurants. We like the basil rolls, presented cut into bite-size morsels. The various curries are well priced and can be customized as to protein embellishment and heat levels, so bring all your vegetarian friends. Chefs specials (priced in the $20s for the mains) vary but may include Nigerian prawns, a pair of which come smothered in an aromatic curry sauce. Rack of lamb is a possibility as well. Desserts blend East and West influences, often pairing Asian flavors with Western concepts, such as pumpkin with sticky rice for the fall. Fried green tea ice cream is a menu regular. The wine list includes some good selections to pair with Thai food, such as a dry Riesling and a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. However, patrons may bring their own wines and pay a corkage fee of $15 per bottle.
