| An entry in the Valley's hot dog wars (crowding a field that includes favorite Rubin's Red Hot), this is---despite its pedestrian name---the most elaborate yet. You line up at the counter to order---after passing by the sizzling products---but tables decked out in brown-and-white vinyl tablecloths occupy a room with a cozy retro feel. In addition to good standard dogs, you can find a very satisfying red hot beef dog, turkey dog and a large number of specialties: a pleasantly spicy andouille sausage, traditional Chicago dog, classic Polish, and a tasty apple-chicken sausage. A variety of homemade condiments---corn relish, raisin-onions and baked beans, in addition to the usual sauerkraut and chili---help make this one fine dog-consuming venue. |
