Stanley Restaurant Review: Occupying a space in the absolute center of the French Quarter, Stanley offers patrons counter seating where they may watch the bustling activity outside and the open kitchen inside. The menu reflects the atmosphere: burgers; creative egg dishes; pepperoni pizza/Caesar salad po’ boys; hearty soups and a first-rate gumbo. Begin with a Bloody Mary (or a "Mega-Mary") and go from there. But be sure to wrap it up with the "Stella Uptown" dessert: rum raisin ice cream over carrot cake with sweet cream cheese sauce, whipped cream, toasted walnuts and cherries. Chef Scott Boswell knows how to make even a casual place memorable right to the end.
