Steve's Diner Restaurant Review: In downtown New Orleans, Steve’s Diner hosts a cadre of regulars including office workers and the power set alike. Occupying an upper floor of a downtown building, the restaurant’s utilitarian dining area, bright and spotless, invites guests to tuck into such dishes as the Full Rooster breakfast composed of grits, eggs, bacon and toast, while the beef brisket po’ boy remains a midday favorite, served with a choice of ever-changing sides. Also appealing is the huge over-stuffed fried shrimp po’ boy, or choose from a selection of more than a half dozen entrée salads (try the BLT with honey bacon Dijon dressing). Check out the daily lunch specials and just know that Tuesday’s meatloaf is irresistible, even if it may cause you to nap at your desk later on. The sweet touch is limited to house-made brownies and cookies.
