Stout Public House Restaurant Review: Stout Public House is a fun, energetic spot in the Gaslamp that serves both traditional Irish fare and American classics with a wide selection of good beers. For a taste of Ireland, enjoy bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, Guinness stew, shepherd’s pie and chicken potpie, and a traditional Irish breakfast---two eggs, imported Irish sausages, rashers, black and white pudding, baked beans and chips, with house-baked soda bread. The Angus beef burger is a mighty half-pounder and a huge hit along with the Reuben for lunch. Steaks, pork chops and pastas round out the menu, as well as calamari, sliders and potato skins as bar food. San Diego hockey fans gather to watch games on the giant flat screens. The space is modern with clean lines decorated with old photos, maps of Ireland and Gaelic football shots. |
