Sufi Restaurant Review: Overlooking the Bay of Banderas, Sufi combines the flavors of Mexico and the Mediterranean to create a cuisine that chef Felipe de Jesus Pelayo Garcia calls "Mexiterranean." Dishes include balsamic rack of lamb with grilled mushroom polenta as well as duck carnitas in a mole sauce with raspberry essence accompanied by arugula and mashed sweet potatoes. Although located in the private Playa Fortuna Beach Club, which is reserved for those who own or rent a home in Punta de Mita's Porta Fortuna community, the restaurant Sufi is open to the public. During the months of December through April, diners may just be lucky enough to spot a migrating whale from their table.
