Sufi's Restaurant Review: Draped to resemble a tent, the ceiling of this comfortable space creates an exotic atmosphere. As soon as you place your order, staff will bring out traditional Persian bread with radishes, herbs, feta cheese, walnuts, olives and butter, but don’t overindulge. We like an arrangement of appetizers to comprise a meal: hummus, any of several eggplant dishes and yogurt dips. The Shirazi salad is singularly fresh tasting with diced cucumbers, tomatoes and onion bathed in olive oil and lemon juice. Then come the kebabs --- focus on the choices that offer lamb. Numerous selections are vegetarian, and indeed vegan. Go for the aromatic eggplant-based vegetable stew. Rice options may come with raisins, pistachios, almonds and orange peel or with barberries, pistachios and almonds. Substituting these rice dishes for the standard saffron basmati version is worth the upcharge. Choose the house-made Persian ice cream for dessert. The wine list is serviceable; pair any sparkling brut rosé with the fare. Otherwise, a hot tea keeps things in perspective.
