Sufi's Restaurant Review: The ceiling of this establishment is draped to resemble a tent, but not to worry: you needn’t doff your shoes to enjoy the cooking. As soon as you place your order, the staff will bring out traditional Persian bread. With it comes radishes, herbs, feta cheese, walnuts, olives and butter, but remember to spare your appetite. We like an arrangement of appetizers to comprise a meal --- the hummus, any of several eggplant dishes and yogurt dips. Then come the kebabs --- focus on the choices that offer lamb. Numerous dishes are vegetarian, and indeed vegan, and rice options may come with raisins, pistachios, almonds and orange peel or, our favorite, with barberries, pistachios and almonds. Substituting these rice dishes for the standard saffron basmati version is worth the upcharge. We also recommend the aromatic stews, including the eggplant-based vegetable stew. Choose a fine fruit sorbet for dessert. Bypass the wine list and plan to bring your own wine for a small ($10) corkage fee. You may also bring your own beer ($10 per table).
