Taberna de Los Cien Vinos Restaurant Review:

Small and intimate, this lively restaurant is popular with locals and in-the-know tourists who come to feast on classic tapas and explore the extensive wine menu. The setup is simple and features two large blackboards on the walls listing the day’s food and drink offerings. The pinchos and tapas are perfect for tasting as many Iberian flavors as possible, while the raciones are more substantial. We recommend choosing a selection of tapas to share, such as toasted bread with bacalao mousse, cumin-sided lamb with eggplant, and cinnamon-sprinkled spicy tomato and goat cheese crêpes. Order as you go and get raciones of the dishes that you like most. Of course, as the “Tavern of 100 Wines,” there is a first-rate list of Spanish wines to sample. Start with a crisp, dry sherry from the Andalucian Lustau bodega, which is the perfect wine on a warm summer’s day in Madrid. The blackboards typically feature seven or eight reds, as well as rosés and cavas, although it’s worth asking a member of the staff about options from the local Madrid DO vineyards. Finish with traditional rice pudding or crema Catalana and a glass of cava.
