Takuya Restaurant Review:

The owners of the long-running, much-loved Sachi Sushi finally retired, selling the operation to their sushi chef, who is gradually putting his own mark on the place. The neighborhood spot boasts a blonde-wood sushi bar in a modest, minimalist dining room, and the best tables spill out onto a pedestrian arcade. This is not high-end sushi, but it is surprisingly good quality for the prices. You’ll get the most bang for the buck with combination plates --- whether sushi, sashimi, tempura or teriyaki --- or big bowls of udon noodles. The service from both the owner and staff is warm and nurturing, and more ambitious specials, such as plump sea snails served in dashi, are gradually making the unassuming Takuya more of a destination.
