THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tamarind Bay Coastal Indian Kitchen Restaurant Review: Tamarind Bay is a sleek little neighborhood hangout, spicing up a Brookline block known for pubs. Just don’t come here if you’re looking for the same-old chicken tikka masala. Seafood stars here, which makes sense; more than half of India is coastline, after all. Specialties of the house include Mangalorean lobster with dry curry, stuffed calamari masala and grilled scallops with mint salsa. Carnivores can take heart, though---some of the traditional meat dishes round out the menu. A lunch buffet offers plentiful vegetarian options. For a change of pace, the restaurant also features an elegant high tea on weekend afternoons, complete with nibbles like samosas and regional teas. |
