THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tamarind Vietnamese Eatery Restaurant Review:
Tamarind may be tiny, but it’s worlds apart from the more commonly found hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese joints in the southern part of the city. The clean, modern room features mustard walls, a sandstone floor, dark wooden tables and local art. The menu features Americanized takes on Vietnamese favorites such as spring rolls and rice plates, but the focus is clearly on pho, with nearly a dozen varieties offered. The sliced beef version is plentiful and piping hot, the steak itself tender and lean. Not nearly as rich as the pho served in more authentic places, but the low prices and huge portions make it worthwhile.
