THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tante's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Chef Tante Urban successfully melds eclectic and ethnic influences on the wide-ranging menu---from Hawaiian dishes served with poi and lomi lomi salmon to notable steaks---all the while accommodating most budgets. Appetizers like escargot bourguignon and ahi sashimi served with ogo salad, wasabi and pickled ginger give way to signature mains such as a flavorful macadamia nut-crusted pork chop stuffed with Fuji apples and raisins, and a two-pound steamed Keahole lobster accompanied by lemon butter. The chef’s own steak and seafood combo is a layering of fried rice, sautéed asparagus, bacon-wrapped filet mignon, and sweet Thai chili and mango sauce circled by a ring of sautéed shrimp. A notable selection of domestic and imported sparkling, white and red wines, including a number of organic wines, are available to complement each dish. Cap off the meal with a warm chocolate truffle brownie topped with Jack Daniel’s raspberry sauce.
