San Rafael can rejoice at Tapeo, especially to the soundtrack of Flamenco guitars, Bossa Nova and samba. Earth tones, wood accents and a fireplace all contribute to the cozy, neighborhood atmosphere. The menu also endeavors to welcome everyone. Though Spanish in inspiration, it reveals a few very California tapas. Take the pepino con salmon, cucumber cups filled with hummus and smoked salmon, or the sesame green beans with shitake mushrooms. Still, traditional Spanish tapas abound from jamon serrano with manchego to a potato and onion tortilla and the paella tapeo loaded with seafood and chorizo. Don't miss the habanero-lime cheesecake.
