| This unassuming family-owned taqueria, just off---as well as under---the freeway in San Rafael, is low on ambience, but the inexpensive Mexican fare more than makes up for it. All day long it draws diners who line up for tacos and enormous burritos packed with specialties such as pork carnitas, beef tongue and chorizo. We feel the carnitas tacos, shrimp burritos and massive tortas with marinated pork or chorizo are the things to order, accompanied with an ice-cold beer or a freshly squeezed orange or carrot juice. If the loud music and sometimes frenzied scene inside seems overwhelming, grab one of the two outdoor tables for more peaceful sidewalk dining. |
