Tasty n Sons Restaurant Review: There are lines out the door when Tasty n Sons opens at 9 a.m., and if you come later than that, expect to wait. The restaurant's popularity is for good reasons, most notably its unique approach to food. While brunch is arguably the busiest dine time, consider dinner, too, but be forewarned: the food doesn't differ much at either meal and there are many tasty choices. Start with the chocolate potato donut holes with crème anglaise or bacon-wrapped dates. Patatas bravas served with aïoli with an over-easy egg is the largest small plate in town. Try the Reuben sandwich or the shakshuka red pepper and tomato stew with baked eggs and merguez lamb sausage. If you're feeling more Spartan, consider "John's Breakfast" with house-made kimchi, sautéed vegetables, brown rice, and a sunny-side-up egg. While Tasty n Sons has a reputation for caloric excess, you can make an entire meal of vegetables. Slide everything down with strong coffee or a Bloody Mary, or if it's later in the day, discuss the beer and wine offerings.
