Taverna Blu Restaurant Review: Taverna Blu lives up to its name as this friendly family Greek eatery has blue tile and blue umbrellas out front to represent the waters of the Mediterranean. Sharing small plates is the way to go. Start with the saganaki flaming cheese and a trio of spreads like spicy feta, garlic hummus and yogurt tzatziki. Then move to steak kebabs glazed in balsamic and panko-crusted fried calamari. The healthy salads are nicely portioned for sharing, like the spinach and beet with pomegranate dressing. There are also pitas galore, hearty pastas and house specials like shrimp and chicken souvlaki to be enjoyed with a glass of Greek wine. Be sure not to skip the baklava vanilla ice cream sundae for dessert.
