Ten22 Restaurant Review: The owners of high-end restaurant The Firehouse bring their panache to the masses with a casual version of that Sacramento institution. Sparkling chandeliers and gilded portraits are replaced by modern light fixtures and natural wood, creating a sports bar vibe. The massive bar area takes center stage, with live music beckoning visitors to unwind. The mostly American menu isn’t as refined as that of its sister restaurant, but dishes are creative and good quality nonetheless, focusing on seasonal, local ingredients. Starters include grilled corn with cotija and ancho chili dust and a daily rillette with greens and toast points, while mains include pear-stuffed pasta with goat cheese and nutmeg cream, and salmon with brown rice and citrus oil. Several pizzas and sandwiches are available, as are house-made seasonal desserts. Diners can also indulge in the Chef's Table, a spontaneous meal that may feature ingredients such as lobster, sweetbreads and truffles.
