 Ten22 Restaurant Review: The come-as-you-are version of the renowned Old Town restaurant The Firehouse, Ten22 provides the same attentive service and well-crafted fare without the overstated opulence. Sparkling chandeliers and gilded portraits are replaced by modern light fixtures and natural wood, creating a sports bar vibe. The massive bar area takes center stage, with live music beckoning visitors to kick off their heels and unwind. The mostly American menu isn’t as refined as that of its sister restaurant, but dishes are creative and top-quality nonetheless. Starters might include a tomato leek bisque with smoked Gouda crouton, and asparagus, farm egg and bacon with Zinfandel vinegar, while mains focus on pizzas (chicken, garlic, pesto), “Daily Affairs” (Friday Surf and Turf) and a handful of large plates, perhaps house-made gnocchi with roasted spring vegetables. Finish with a dessert such as the “Butterscotch, Cookies, and Foam.” |
