Tengda Asian Bistro Restaurant Review: Tengda’s menu juxtaposes Chinese and Japanese standards (including selections from a sushi bar) with the comparatively exotic specialties of Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese cooking. While the diverse repertoire isn't Greenwich's most accomplished, this restaurant (one of several in the Connecticut area), is a reliable, local favorite. Appetizers include a tuna tower with roasted pine nuts, cilantro and wonton crisps. A Thai-style pepper “bird’s nest” presents filet mignon, shrimp and scallops served in a potato taro nest. Chilean sea bass, shrimp, scallop, salmon and Asian vegetables in a mild coconut curry sauce is another favorite. The modern setting --- with earth tones and soft lighting --- combines the warmth of a traditional bistro with an Asian flair. |
