THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED That's Amore Restaurant Review: Possibly the first Italian restaurant in the DC area to launch the family-size portions plan, this popular eatery embraces the idea that more is more. We applaud such appetizers as the fried mozzarella in carrozza, a luscious and caloric taste of fried and battered Italian bread topped with mozzarella, prosciutto and basil and bathed in marinara and pesto caper cream. That starter plus a salad make an ample lunch, but then youd pass up the ultra spicy sausage, peppers, and onions. Theres plenty here to appeal to everyone in the family, from pasta dishes to chicken, veal, seafood and steaks. Homemade desserts are good, including tiramisu, cannoli, gelatto, cheesecake, bread pudding and Gelato Paradisio, a dazzling sundae with ice cream and hot fudge. Other locations.
