Thumbs Up Diner Restaurant Review: A spiffy industrial-style space in a gritty neighborhood draws crowds who gather, especially on weekends, for the good omelets, pancakes, whole-wheat biscuits, grits and burgers. We like the Yukon, a generously proportioned omelet with smoked salmon, spinach and feta cheese. The grits are the real McCoy: stone ground and properly seasoned; their corn flavor is right on the money. Bacon isn't just bacon: it's apple wood-smoked bacon. The place makes its own jams, and the black currant is first-rate. At the counter seating you can meet and touch elbows with new friends. Go early on weekends to avoid a wait. |
