Tiella Restaurant Review

: Tiella is not your typical Italian restaurant. You won’t find spaghetti bolognese or carbonara or tiramisu on the menu. There are no red and white checkered tablecloths. Instead, this chic, narrow, brick-walled space is home to nicely executed southern Italian fare. Start with salmon carpaccio, intermingled with fresh fennel, or the Gorgonzola-béchamel-topped spinach flan, which is like eating concentrated greens. The pasta dishes pack a wallop as well: the black ink cutlet fish fettuccine is enlivened with scallops and chanterelles and the whole-wheat spaghetti is bold with flavor thanks to the radicchio, speck and artichoke. Heartier fare includes a rosemary spiked lamb chop and oven-roasted wild red snapper. The all-Italian wine list has some affordable names even a novice wine drinker would recognize.
