| Chef-owners Ticha and Dan Krinsky's menu changes not only seasonally, but often weekly, depending on what's fresh. For starters, try the cheese-filled corn pupusa, a staple of El Salvador. Mussels in a pasilla pepper broth and a comforting roasted pork paired with chipotle mashed potatoes are musts. Pionono, a mixture of raisins and ground beef, may appear in ravioli or as a plantain filling. Winter's mole chicken lasagna is a stylish regional take on an Italian classic, served in a portion that's plenty for two. If the restaurant has a signature dish, this is it. For dessert, we recommend the flan and crêpes filled with cajeta, a sweet condensed goat milk, and the tres leches cake. Latin American wines, with the occasional Spanish wine, provide the final fillip to an authentic dining experience. On National Days, the flavors of specific countries are celebrated with fixed-price dinners. |
