THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tin Pan Restaurant Review:
The menu at this Castro hot spot borrows bits and pieces from Indian, Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The concept is appealing, but the dishes themselves are hit-or-miss. The nouveau noodle dishes in particular can be bland and unpleasantly starchy. Your best bet is to go with the signature dishes: firecracker tuna roll and blazing beef are both good choices if your tastebuds can handle the burn. Definitely save room for the dessert; both banana fritters and raspberry chocolate wontons are delectable. The wild bar scene is one of the main reasons people come here---after a few specialty Cosmos, no ones liable to be a very harsh critic.
