Tips Up Grille & Bar Restaurant Review: Although limited in number of tables, Tips Up offers a quiet, romantic respite from the tropical mélange of eateries in South Maui. Light jazz and R&B waft from speakers throughout the candlelit dining room. And while frequented by the hotel and restaurant employees of the area, the eatery attracts the more sophisticated and subdued of the set. The menu is simple but elegant. Whether you choose the Brie on toast, a fiery scampi diablo or the more complex mushroom feuitte, your taste buds will be singing. Our favorite is the cioppino---a seafood stew made to share. There are also weekly specials, like steamed Alaskan king crab legs on Mondays, and the best late-night menu on the island. There’s live music every night, from blues, jazz and Hawaiian to Latin, reggae and rock. |
