Tonto Bar & Grill Restaurant Review: Many of the ingredients at this eclectic Arizona-themed eatery are fresh from the surrounding desert: prickly pear, jojoba seeds, mesquite beans, saguaro fruit, palm dates and olives. They all add up to some of the most satisfying dining in the Valley, with signatures like the Indian Harvest torta, layered with braised Anasazi beans, tomatoes, ancho chile goat cheese, palm dates and sun-dried tomatillo relish on "ancient" three-grain flatbread. The view is pure, striking Arizona, too, from the latilla-covered patio overlooking the 11th green at the lush Rancho Mañana golf course, and of Skull Mesa, Elephant Butte and Tonto National Forest. Service tends to be casual in the clubhouse setting, but the wine list is serious.
