Tony's Jacal Restaurant Review: The Jacal family has owned, managed and staffed this Solana Beach Mexican eatery since 1946. The setting is festive, especially the garden patio with its gurgling fountain and twinkle lights; the margaritas are consistently tasty; and the food might be prepared with a twist, with several dishes made with turkey instead of chicken. We like the crispy turkey tacos or the healthful turkey salad for a lighter meal. Live mariachi music fills the rooms where families chat over fresh chips and salsa and then dig into hearty burritos, carne asada tacos or enchiladas blanketed in cheese. For something a little different, try the shrimp in mole or pork chile verde.
