| Carlos Vizcaino brought Chicago-style pizzas from the Windy City to the Magic City. The restaurant sports a collection of turtles brought in by customers fond of Vizcaino. This tribute to the restaurant's name, which means "turtle" in Spanish, is a hint that the cooking doesn’t happen fast. Lunchtime customers can enjoy a huge slice of the stuffed pizza quickly, though, if they're willing to choose either sausage-and-pepperoni or spinach-and-mushroom toppings. Stuffed or thin-crust options include a Wrigleyville, a Cubs fan favorite, with Italian sausage, smoked sausage, onions and green bell peppers. Or there’s hearty homemade lasagna. Partially baked pizzas are available for those who want to take some home to serve up hot. Whole cheesecakes---yes, including a turtle variety---may also be taken out, if one calls a day ahead. |
