THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Townhouse Brasserie Restaurant Review:

A long thin room widening out at both ends makes for a slightly uncomfortable space, but the décor is pretty---light wood and colourful prints. The cooking is crackingly good at this small, family-run restaurant just off New Oxford Street. It’s an excellent lunchtime spot for British Museum visitors and a good dinner venue for anyone staying in the area. The menu travels around the world. There are starters like potted duck with nutmeg and rosemary served with crusty country bread and simple crostini with fresh tomatoes, basil and olive oil. The kitchen staff’s way with fish is distinguished such as a baked sea bream with a warm ginger, basil and tomato salsa. There is a ’casse-croûte’, or light meal menu, allowing for excellent midday snacking on such choices as chargrilled duck breasts on Chinese-style vegetables at £6.95. Prices overall are very good indeed for this high level of cooking---the brasserie is well worth seeking out.
