Trattoria da Lepri Restaurant Review

: Located in an unpretentious neighborhood strip mall, Trattoria da Lepri and its executive chef/owner Frank Lepri offer a limited but tasteful French and Italian menu featuring farm-to-table fresh meats and produce. While the façade may be less than impressive, step inside and you are immediately transported to a cozy, European-style bistro, where Lepri and his wife Debbie serve guests with continental aplomb. The intimate setting features a giant chalkboard menu that changes often depending on the season and the chef’s whim. Feeling Italian? Try Lepri’s specialties including house-made pappardelle, balsamic braised short rib ravioli, sherry-glazed filet or lump crab-crusted wild salmon with porcini broth. If you prefer French, opt for beef Bourguignon with red wine pomme purée, escargots in golden puff pastry or a charcuterie tasting featuring foie gras, pâté and smoked garlic sausage. For dessert, one may encounter chocolate truffle cake, apple tart and varied crème brûlées. The wine list is reasonably priced, with Italian wines making up about 70 percent of the offerings. There is also a small reserve list and several wines by the glass available.

Maybe you could go somewhere where they serve frozen food
by dinerAZ123 on Fri Aug 02, 2013 5:18 pm

I took my mother for her 73 birthday, owner ruined the experience when I asked for the ice-cream that came under the cake on side. I was given a speech about presentation by a curt woman who said well I' m the owner and the answer is no. Then after we decided to pass on the desert and end the evening ($100 dinner for two later) The owner followed me to my car, aminated and speaking at me saying "Maybe you could go somewhere where they serve frozen food". I guess she didn't think that was appropriate to say IN her restaurant for other customers to hear. I have been blessed to eat at some of the finest restaurants in the world, and have never had such a disappointing experience, I went home, upset and queezy after dropping off my elderly mother who had been in tears.
