Treebeards Restaurant Review: It's been nearly three decades since Treebeards dished out the first bowl of its signature red beans and rice, yet loyalty to this downtown restaurant shows no signs of abating. As with its other locations, Cajun comfort food is the order of the day here in the social hall of Christ Church Cathedral, with the aforementioned red beans and rice (with or without a link sausage), gumbo and jambalaya. The dessert of choice is crusty, hyper-sweet butter cake, which comes wrapped in plastic---as if to facilitate taking it back to the office. |
