Ugly Dog Saloon & BBQ Restaurant Review: Some places are hard to categorize, and that’s the case with Ugly Dog Saloon & BBQ. Just watch how the bar can transform itself in minutes into a live music joint. Menu-wise, the main dishes can be counted on four fingers: braised beef brisket, pork spare ribs, pulled pork and boned chicken breast, all soaking up the house's above-average Arkansas barbecue sauce, and all cooked slowly for 13 hours before they reach your table. But some of the side dishes prove more notable than the meat they're intended to embellish, such as barbecue chili beans, served in a tall mug with fresh chopped onion, cheddar and sour cream. Don’t look for a fancy wine list --- that’s not what Ugly Dog is about. Expect beer, football on flat-screen TVs, and hard partying until the wee hours. |
