| Uncle Pete’s introduced many a Bostonian to slow-cooked barbecue. Large chunks of hickory are used in the enclosed smoker, and the St. Louis ribs absorb the sweet flavors from the long, slow smoke; the pulled pork is also a crowd fave. From there, things get a little quirky---get a load of the sweet potato biscuits served when you sit down, as well as the Asian accents scattered across the menu. As it happens, the owner's wife hails from Thailand; so go ahead and order the Thai-style slaw and see for yourself how its piquant flavors and crisp bite complement rich Southern-style barbecue. |
