| Talented chef Tim Luym, formerly of the Poleng Lounge, has created a flavorful, Vietnamese-inspired menu of healthful sandwiches, soups and salads at this former fro-yo shop in the bustling Financial District. Downtowners can indulge in steaming bowls of meat or vegan pho, with Fulton Valley Farms chicken or organic Hodo Soy tofu. Lemon grass chicken banh mi is a take on the Vietnamese sandwich and mixes shredded chicken with sriracha aïoli, pickled veggies and a faint smattering of jalapeños, all on a soft, chewy baguette. Nearly everything on the menu is locally and sustainably produced down to the beverages such as natural sodas and brewed teas. Honoring its “picnic” concept, diners can order lunches to go, or dine in the modern-meets-warm interior, with bright green and white plastic chairs contrasting woodsier elements such as a long, high-backed wooden bench and a communal table constructed entirely out of reclaimed Douglas fir. |
