| Tall and proud in the heart of the Lincoln Road commercial district, this second goldmine of The News Café proprietors draws most folks with its overstuffed sandwiches, soaked Caesar salads and hearty bowls of pasta. Summery gazpacho is our recommendation, followed by the Camembert burger. One of the only places on Lincoln road serving early morning breakfast, the best people-watching here can be done before noon. The menu of American favorites is enormous. Slip upstairs to the cozy jazz bar and grab a seat on the sofa. Try a mojito, a refreshing sweet Cuban cocktail of freshly squeezed lime juice, sprigs of peppermint, and rum. That---and the people-watching---may be reason enough to become one of The Van Dyke’s many regulars. |
