 Varga Bar is a sassy Midtown Village neighborhood restaurant from chef-owner R. Evan Turney, the culinary force behind the fresh Mediterranean flavors at hip Valanni and the earthy Italian dishes at Mercado. Varga Bar, adorned by ceiling pin-ups inspired by the famed artist, is the spot for gastropub small plates including a snappy Kobe chili cheese dog, steamed mussels with chorizo and fennel, and a seasonal peach and crab salad that tastes expensive, but isn’t. Vast craft beer options and decent wine by the glass add appeal.
