This Route 50 destination is a mix of chic eats and casual family fare, with a menu that’s replete with the typical Italian-American offerings: fettuccine with crab meat, linguini with clams, grilled beefsteak with porcini, veal slices with capers, and the robust zuppa di pesce, the priciest dish on the menu. While none of the preparations begin to tap into the vast array of fine Italian cooking, the meals are well prepared. Depending on the season, the classic salad of tomato, mozzarella and basil may include chilled and flavorless tomatoes. The pollo Positano, or chicken breast stuffed with pancetta and provolone, is tasty enough, but not inspired. Dessert choices are limited to tiramisu, mousse, cannoli or a berry tart.
