THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Viet Hong Restaurant Review:

Ignore the menu at this tiny Vietnamese storefront in Allston and concentrate instead on the overwhelming number of handwritten specials plastered all over the walls. There are shrimp stir-fries and a list of dishes whose ingredients come separately on a platter along with thin rice papers so that you make your own rolls for dipping into sauces. Squid gets a lot of play here as do vegetables and tofu, the latter pair no doubt a reflection of much of its counter-culture clientele. The neighborhood is young and populated by rock and rollers who count this as a favorite. It’s lively and funky and a little bit of Alphabet City in Boston. The same owner has been here for almost fifteen years and he’s almost always the only waiter.
