Dark wood accents, white linens and pale, butter-colored walls give this space a stylish simplicity with quiet overall charm. Windows look out on bustling Nicollet Mall, and truth be told, we love this place most at lunchtime. Then, it’s flooded with sunshine, and service seems more attentive. It's when nibbling on a buttery, crisp croque monsieur and frites and sipping a glass of French wine that we feel so, well, Parisian. During dinner, chef Vincent Francoual’s love affair with seafood preparations may lean us towards seared scallops, the adventurous among us might go for the crispy veal sweetbreads. But we also know you won’t be disappointed if you stick with Francoual’s mushroom risotto. Desserts include a selection of cheeses as well as the chef’s favorite childhood dessert (cited as such on the menu): vanilla ice cream, warm chocolate sauce and homemade madeleines. Don’t forget to order an espresso to go with. |
