THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Wine Bar Bistro Restaurant & Wine Merchant Restaurant Review

: With a new name and location, just a wine-glass toss from its original locale and housed in the former Desert Sage building, The Wine Bar Bistro has matured. The original owners have abandoned the small-plates-only and wine shop concept for that of a more full-service restaurant, complete with cocktails and a lounge. There's still the cheese and charcuterie platter that seems to be a staple at every wine bar, but now you can enjoy steak, fresh fish and pasta. The New York steak hails from the Double R Ranch in Washington and is a nice 12-ounce cut served with Yukon Gold garlic mashed potatoes, baby bok choy and carrots. Chicken linguine is tossed with olive oil and garlic, then finished with fresh basil, Romano cheese and flakes of pepper. Two favorites are the tri-tip sliders on mini brioche, and the fig and prosciutto pizza. There are 30 wines by the glass, with a wine selection that exceeds 250 labels. Although the wine shop no longer exists, you can still purchase an unopened bottle to bring home.
