Wine Experience Cafe & World Cellar Restaurant Review: Part buzzy restaurant, part wine bar and part boutique wine and spirits shop, the Wine Experience Café & World Cellar is a gastronomic wonderland in the culinarily deprived suburb of Aurora, an area otherwise occupied by chain restaurants. The cosmopolitan dining room, flanked by espresso-hued banquettes, their backs striped with muted earth tones, is dimly illuminated by donut-shaped wooden chandeliers and suspended silver lights dangling from the floating ceiling. We like the gas fireplace, the eclectic and reasonably priced wine roster and the fact that we can saunter through the adjoining wrought-iron gate to grab a bottle of vino to-go from the adjacent wine shop. The menu, a global romp that celebrates seasonal foodstuffs, trumpets meaty crab cakes bolstered by harissa aïoli and cucumber raita, asparagus vichyssoise swirled with crème fraîche and a Maytag blue cheese soufflé. We also recommend the pistachio-crusted roasted chicken glazed with hoisin sauce, and the Serrano ham pizzette, a blistered, thin-crusted oval paved with manchego cheese and roasted red and yellow peppers.
